Caring not only for oneself but also for others should be a principle not only for every responsible individual but also for businesses. The goal is to make the world a better place to live not just for oneself but for others as well. The company “Das Work” undoubtedly adheres to this principle, caring not only for its employees but also for our small, four-legged friends.
This week, the “Das Work” team visited the “SOS Animals” shelter. And they didn’t come empty-handed; they brought generous gifts for the shelter’s residents.
The shelter visitors not only came with gifts but also spent quality time with the pets cared for at the shelter. They gave them attention, took them for walks, played with them, petted, and cuddled them.
The “Das Work” team acknowledges that visiting the animal shelter is a meaningful experience. Seeing the dogs and cats confined in cages, their sad eyes, and longing for love, fills the heart with immense sadness.
“These animals are wonderful. If I could, I would take them all home with me. You want to approach each one, give each one attention. Because they need it. Shelter staff, despite their best efforts, naturally can’t physically provide each animal with as much warmth as they need. But they are doing a tremendous job,” shares Reda.
During the visit, the “SOS Animals” shelter staff told the visitors about the animals in their care. Each has its own story, each has suffered some kind of harm, leaving not only physical but also psychological scars – deafness, blindness, lameness, and so on.
“I am deeply saddened that people can so heartlessly abandon their pets. And that they can be so cruel to them. After all, this is not a toy, not an object. It’s a living being that bonds, loves. And it hurts just as much when it is harmed or simply thrown out onto the street. Our society still has a lot to learn, especially when it comes to social responsibility,” says Deividas, the head of the transport department.
“Das Work” Urges All Businesses to Become Socially Responsible
The company “Das Work” presents itself as a socially responsible business. The visit to the animal shelter is just one of the many socially responsible initiatives organized by the conscious, creative, and active company team. Through their example, the company hopes to inspire other businesses. They encourage everyone not to be indifferent, to look beyond their own interests, and to love others as much as they love themselves.
“Sharing kindness costs nothing. Being conscious and responsible also costs nothing. It doesn’t require massive investments or grand strategies. You simply give others the best you have within yourself – understanding, love, respect, and compassion. That’s all,” says Reda Bžeskienė, Head of Marketing at “Das Work.”
The “Das Work” team assures that this visit to the “SOS Animals” shelter will certainly not be the last, and they believe it will become another wonderful team tradition.
